Using the app

Product Guard is a personal record-keeping tool. You may use it for any lawful purpose. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter and for keeping your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.

No account is required, so there is nothing to register, transfer or lose access to. Using the app means you accept these terms.

Warranty reminders are not guarantees

Reminder dates are calculated from the purchase date and warranty length you enter. The app cannot verify either.

A reminder that does not arrive — because notifications were disabled, the device was off or out of storage, or the details were entered incorrectly — does not extend any manufacturer's or retailer's warranty period. Always check the terms of the actual warranty.

AI-generated content

Extracted receipt details, suggested categories, coverage summaries, assistant replies and claim drafts are generated by a model and can be wrong or incomplete.

Review anything the app suggests before you rely on it, and read any claim message in full before you send it. The app never sends a claim on your behalf.

Prices are not a valuation

Prices shown by the assistant and by “What's it worth?” are live listings from a marketplace at the moment you looked. They are what other people are asking — not what an item will sell for, not an insurance valuation, and not a retail price.

Second-hand stock varies in condition and completeness. Check the listing itself before acting on any figure.

No legal or consumer-rights advice

Coverage summaries, claim drafts and claim help are informational only. They are not legal advice and do not describe your statutory consumer rights, which vary by country. Consult the seller, the manufacturer, or a qualified adviser for anything that matters.

Your data is your responsibility

With iCloud sync on, your warranties follow your Apple account to your other devices. Without it, they exist only on that one device and can be lost if it is lost, reset, or restored without a backup, or if the app is deleted.

Use Export Data periodically if you want a copy you control. We hold no copy of your records and cannot recover them for you.

Third-party services

Product lookups, image search, price lookups and the assistant reach services we do not operate — currently UPCitemdb, Wikimedia, eBay, and a hosted language-model provider. Their availability, accuracy and rate limits are theirs, not ours, and a feature that depends on one of them can stop working without notice.

iCloud sync is provided by Apple and governed by Apple's terms.

Plans and payment

Product Guard offers a Free plan and a Pro plan. Pricing has not been set. When it is, prices, billing period and what each plan includes will be stated on this site and inside the app before any charge is possible.

Any paid plan will be sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system, which means Apple handles the payment, the receipt and the refund policy. We never see your card details.

Acceptable use

Don't use the app to break the law, and don't try to work around the rate limits on the lookup features, script them, or resell the data they return. Those services are metered, and abuse takes them away from everyone.

No warranty for the app itself

The app is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its suggestions will be correct.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app, including a missed warranty window, an unsuccessful claim, a decision made on a price the app showed you, or data lost from a device that was not backed up.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected.

Changes

These terms may change as the app changes, and the date at the top changes with them. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the terms in that version.
